Office of the County Clerk: Performance Measures


Mission:

To undertake legislative and election functions in a lawful, fair, open, and efficient manner, on behalf of the people of the County of Maui.

The Office of the County Clerk serves two functions: Legislative and Election. The legislative function provides services that enable the County Council to consider and enact legislation though a lawful, reasonable, and efficient process. The election function provides election services to the public that are governed by applicable provisions of federal, state and county law.

Performance Measures are directly linked to budgetary outcomes. The adjacent chart shows a snapshot of the County Clerk's budget. Overall, the County Clerk accounts for approximately 0.3% of the Operating Budget.

FY 2017 Highlights:

In 2017, the Office of the County Clerk met or exceeded the vast majority of success measure estimates. The Department:
  • Processed and uploaded 100% of committee reports, ordinances, and resolutions within one week.
  • Archived 8 prior years' resolutions onto the county website to help accomplish record keeping in an effective, efficient and legally proper manner.
  • Provided 100% of requested election records to government agencies, political organizations and the public by legal deadline.
