Administration and Planning Program

The Department of Planning serves the entire population of the County. The Department offers technical advice to County officials, proposes zoning legislation, drafts updates to County and community plans, and advises development proposals. Additionally, Planning reviews and processes applications for a wide variety of developments, from small bed-and-breakfast operations to large commercial or industrial projects. The Department also enforces zoning and other land use regulations to ensure that all applicable laws and rules are being followed.

  • Continued to work towards measures related to improving customer service and streamlining permit application procedures.
