To utilize emergency management principles of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery to protect life and property of Maui County residents and visitors during emergency or disaster situations.
Emergency Management Program
The Maui County Emergency Management Agency serves all county residents and visitors and is responsible for administering and operating various local, state, and federal civil defense programs for the County. This includes planning, preparing and coordinating emergency management operations in meeting disaster situations and coordinating post-disaster recovery operations.  Performance measures help Emergency Management to assess readiness and preparedness as it related to department objectives and goals.

FY 2017 Highlights

  • Updated Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plain to support enhancing the County's response capacity and capabilities for All-Hazards.
  • Met and improved a number of success measure estimates related to identifying and implementing the use of appropriate technology during all phases of emergency management.
  • Met success measures related to training to order to support a well-trained and responsive staff.
